Pebble key rings are pretty and a fun way to accessorize your keys.
One thing to remember when mounting stones for key rings is that the adhesive should be allowed the maximum setting period (Up to 3 days for slow-set epoxy resin adhesive).
This is necessary as a key ring has to withstand a good deal of wear in pocket or handbags and the stones must be very firmly stuck.
You Will Need:
- Mounts as specified
- Epoxy resin adhesive
- Stones of your choice
To Make the Turquoise Key Ring
Fit cap to stone, apply adhesive and leave to set.
When ready, fix with a large jump ring to the key ring mount, as shown.
These linking jump rings are needed to fasten one mount to another.
To Make the snowflake Obsidian Key Ring
Make it the same way as the turquoise key ring.
To Make the Cross Key Ring
This would make a charming confirmation gift for a little girl.
Select a cabochon stone to stick on the cross pendant mount, using the child’s birth stone.
Fit a jump ring and hand on a key ring mount.
To Make the Round Beaten Copper key Ring
Form a simple flower shape from a cabochon stone surrounded by chips of baroque stones as shown.
To Make the Abalone and Garnet Key Ring
This delicate little key ring would be suitable for evening use.
Choose a prettily marked pink piece of abalone, fold and stick a silver leaf mount to it and place a tiny garnet at the bottom point.
A key ring mount with a fine chain should be used for this pendant.
To Make the Lucky Clover Aventurine Key Ring
Green stones look lovely on a polished copper mount and the shape of baroque aventurine suggest a ‘lucky four leaf clover’ arrangement.
Stick a tiny stone in the center to give an attractive finish where the points meet.
These are just some basic designs for you to try out. Use your imagination to come up with even more ideas and designs.
Thanks for stopping by and until next time,
Happy Crafting!
